Hello! List of cracks

  • I can Click about 50 joints all over my body. I am still learning for new places tho. Any tips?

  • Until today, I didn't know there was a network of jointcrackers out there, but it will feel good to talk about this addiction with people that truly understand it. My girlfriend often looks at me funny when I try to describe everything that I can crack. The numbers in parenthesis following each body part indicates the number of cracks total for that part. I sure hope that the old saying, "you'll get arthritis if you crack your knuckles," isn't true. Enjoy:

    cartilage on nose (2)
    neck (6)
mid back between shoulder blades (4)
    mid-lower back (4-5)
    lower back by pelvis (2)
    sternum-cartilage joints (1-2)
    both wrists (2)
    both elbows (2)
both thumbs at both joints and thumb/wrist joint (6)
both index fingers at three joints (6)
both middle fingers at three joints (6)
both ring fingers at three joints (6)
both pinky fingers at three joints (6)
    right and left hips (2)
    top of both ankles (2)
    outside of both ankles (2)
both big toes at two joints (4)
both 2nd toes at three joints (6)
both 3rd toes at three joints (6)
both 4th toes at three joints (6)
both small toes at two joints (4)

    Total cracks = 85-87

I do most of this several times a day, whenever I feel slight pressure building up in any joints. I should probably stop - any cures to this?

  • Ok well mine is miniscule to your collections.

  • I've got a hypermobile spine. Every single joint in my spine cracks. My ribcage, shoulders, clavicles, hips and ankles crack, also occasionally my knees, elbows and wrists. My jaw cracks. If I stay too long in a bad posture, I occasionally hear a hissing sound, like bubbles moving. I can totally believe bubbles are the cause of cracking joints.

On bad days, when I walk it's like rice krispies in my spinal column.

The joint between my skull and spine once clicked and gave me pins and needles in my entire body, that was scary.

I can just about cause nerve pain in extremities by assuming bad posture.

I crack my knuckle joints in my fingers, mostly because it worries my wife.

  • WOW Requiem.

    Does your spine hurt?

I am guessing you never cracked that joint again?

i like the rice crispies example! i used to say it sounded like tissue paper, but rice crispies sounds better 😎

  • Someone else described it as rice crispie sound on here.

  • @Jud:

Hello everyone! I read a few posts and I see I'm not the only one surprised to hear they're not alone. Cool! Also glad to hear about the fella who's 60 and has been cracking since 12. Glad to hear I'll be typing for a long time still.

I started cracking around 9 with knuckles, and of course I don't mean the way most people crack their knuckles. New joints started to crack until I was 17. Over the years the way joints crack has changed for the better, far less annoying than it used to be. If you want to know more just ask.

    Ok the fun part..

Joints that are able to crack continuously (no "gas build up" theory can explain this):
    Knuckles
    Both wrists
    Right shoulder
    Both ankles

    The rest:
    Jaw
    Neck
Back, Spine (twisting, pushing back, fist at the base)
    Sternum
    Elbows
Whatever joints connect your legs to the rest of you
    Right knee
    Toes
and a mysterious shin pop I can get sometimes

That's all.. and I'm really glad ya'll are out there.

shin pop is one i haven't heard before..

  • I'm kind of uncomfortable with introductions, so I'll sneak mine in here.

Since I was a boy, I have been cracking my back (usually just the lower portions pops), fingers (all joints), wrists, toes, and neck. I do need some build-up, and I don't like it when I feel like cracking them repeatedly in short periods of time.

I am trying to stop doing the knuckles, as it might be damaging me. I've been told to stop cracking the neck for health reasons, but it's hard to resist. People want me to stop cracking things because it bothers them, but that's like my wanting people to stop being ugly 😛

  • LOL, excellent point.

I can't crack the middle joint on fingers intentionally. It is hard to stop cracking neck i have tried. I think that cracking fingers is bad too and had stopped for over 5 months but after i found out how to crack a new joint it sometimes cracked them so i gave in.

In response to the shin thing - touche Bod8 - i didn't know that either.

  • I am new here.. hey everyone.. in addition to all the cracks listed above (most of them anyway ) My favorite is this.. I lay on my back and position my legs almost indian style.. bottoms of my feet together.. like butterfly…. after a few seconds to a minute the weight of my leg cracks the joint near my groin.. it just sort of over powers it and it falls a tiny bit while cracking LOUD.. when cracking my knuckles.. i get between 24 and 36 cracks.. 36 ( being the record) between my ten fingers.. when I lay down flat on my back i crack all the way up my spine just from laying down.. GLAD TO FIND YOU ALL
