Post here if you think Jointcracktitis isn't really a sickness but maybe even beneficial to your health.

In this line of thought you consider Jointcracktitis a fortunate find for your well being.

In my opinion, though, sometimes nothing beats jointcracking for stress relief. Razz

I agree. The higher my stress levels, the more likely I am to crack joints.
However, sometimes I let go too much, and regret it the following days. At this time my strong desire to pop will have awakened again due to too many and strong "over-stretchings" of joint tendons and liagments the day before.

All the abstinence before this relapsing has then be for vain again...

when i was in my exams and i was getting stressed, i'd always crack my knuckles and ankles and instantly i could write faster and it seemed like my mind was clearer. i put it down to having something to distract you from the task at hand for a couple of seconds, so the stress disappears.

I would crack my fingers almost instantaneously when i am nervous. Even if i don't, one hand will like pull and muck around with the fingers on the other.

But i don't think you should ignore it, and it is a problem.

joint cracking a problem??? Abstinence??? i've never heard of such things. WoW. really? joint cracking seems to be hereditary, my dads side of the family cracks and my sister all most as much as me. you should embrace your cracking heritage friends and crack freely , stretch often and strive to learn the best and safest ways to crack. Most of the time you get great cracks you are STRETCHING muscles also which is extremely healthy and enjoyable. Feels Great. My body wants and tells me to stretch which ends up cracking ALL my joints daily. I am in great shape and very flexible. Joint mobilization and rotation warms up the synovial fluid of the joint making movements smoother and increases the range of motions of that joint. It is healthy and beneficial to the joint. often I crack during joint mobilization by a Massage Therapist and Have had many clients crack on me also(I'm an MT also). Its common , normal and healthy .And often i crack practicing yoga stretches which feel great for the stretch alone, the crack is the cherry on top.

I would never stop cracking my joints. I'm a chronic knuckle and toe cracker, and I love every second of my habit. It's just the satisfying sound and the fulfilling feeling afterwards...

There's no way I'll stop! I only wish I could crack more. It is in no way harmful and there is no need to feel guilty about it as some seem to do! There are people on here who seem to think their cracking is on a par with child abuse. Wise up. It's perfectly natural. I'll bet primates do it too!
