I tend to use "cracking" a lot now because it's quite an aggressive word and describes the sound well in my opinion Smile
Although I still use "popping" and "clicking", because they're just as good Surprised

used to use clicking all the time now use cracking.

However when you ask people if they crack, they think it is when you like make the sound with your thumb and index finger.
